WSDA Fish Farm Occupation benefit concert Nov.24, 2017, a big success!

The Wild Salmon Defenders Alliance’s benefit concert to raise funds to support the occupiers of the Midsummer and Swanson fish farms was a huge success!
What a fun time we had with MC Ronnie Dean Harris, who joined us drumming and singing in honour of the brave occupiers. Earnest Alfred and occupier Shawna Green, titled salmon warrior from the Cowichan first Nation, spoke about the historic significance of these occupations, the international attention they are receiving, and the momentum that is growing in support of their demand that the fish farms leave their territory. While we danced to the awesome music provided by Holly Arntzen and Kevin Wright of the Wilds, people bid on silent auction items donated by numerous wild salmon supporters.
Thank you to everyone who attended the concert, sent donations, and donated items to the auction.
All funds raised have been sent to assist the Midsummer and Swanson fish farm occupiers in their quest to remove open net pen fish farms from their waters!
